Dr. Roecklein earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at South Florida State Hospital and her post-doctoral residency at the Clinical & Forensic Institute Inc.
She is the founding president of Mental Illness New Directions (M.I.N.D.), a group dedicated to advocating for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. Dr. Roecklein completed her doctoral dissertation research on the effectiveness of a recovery model based drop-in center for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. She is extremely passionate about advocacy work and decreasing the stigma of mental illness.
Dr. Roecklein has extensive experience conducting individual therapy and group therapy as well as a range of psychological assessments. Dr. Roecklein’s areas of expertise include the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of psychological disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, and substance use disorders. Her theoretical orientation is integrative, as she strongly believes that therapeutic interventions should be specifically tailored to the needs of each individual.
