Dr. Washington received her Ph.D. in Counseling and School Psychology from Florida State University. Prior to joining Segel Psychological Center as a postdoctoral psychology fellow, Dr. Washington completed her pre-doctoral internship at Mid-Ohio Psychological Services, a community mental health center in Columbus, Ohio, where she provided therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults from the underserved population.
She presents with experience working with culturally diverse populations and is bilingual in English and Haitian-Creole. While her academic training mainly stems from a cognitive-behavioral prospective, Dr. Washington adopts an eclectic theoretical orientation that best suits the needs of her clients, including person-centered, family systems, and solution-focused approaches.
Dr. Washington specializes in the psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of mental health disorders and learning disabilities, including depression, anxiety, poor anger control, personality disorders, relationship concerns, low self-esteem, behavior management, and other areas of social/emotional development.
